in the nice point of view, he saved her from being killed.

BUT, that was my first thought. But then i dug deeper.

So, here's the story.

Jason Derulo has this girlfriend who he just moved in with.
He was going to propose to her.
They were still unpacking when the unfortunate girl got hit by a car.
Well, almost, but the time stopped.

Time started to go in reverse.
Memories started to play in rewind.
And at the park, where they supposedly have gotten closer and started falling for each other, the time froze.
There he was, Jason DeRülo, leaning by his Lamborghini, with his shades on, looking straight, with his dog on the leash.
Time started ticking normally.

Jason DeRülo who was originally walking straight towards the bench the girl was sitting on, walked straight pass her.
He looked back. The girl waved. He waved back. He kept walking.
Memories of their times spent together, played, moment by moment skipping days and more precious memories and also skipping the times they were apart.
The girl was left on the bench in despair.
The girl who was being served dinner by Jason was suddenly gone from the picture.
The girl in the picture of a happy soon to be couple disappeared.
The girl who was about to get hit by a car, drove by a reckless man on his cell phone, was saved.

In conclusion, Jason DeRülo chose to not be with the person he loves most and would love to spend his life with, just to save her life. And by doing that, he sacrificed his happiness.
